ABOUT THE SHOW
PLASTIC PROBLEMS
'Plastic Problems' is what I titled my 'Surface Design' university project. Being a print / textile based project, I linked this to my label 'Bodawear', and decided to further explore sustainability and biological textures, but this time I delved into the realms of oceanic pollution, looking at the ways in which plastic pollution in the ocean can affect our health - and also the health of our sea life. I would take ocean nets and trap them in between hot layers of plastic- to explore how these substances might decompose themselves in our ocean over time. I also came across a specimen, called the 'Ideonella sakaiensis' , a microbe which was discovered to be able to 'eat' and decompose of plastics faster- preventing ocean pollutions
